What changes when an AI assistant is plugged into your CRM
An assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can write and analyse, but it knows neither your orders nor your products. Plugging Ecomly in gives it tools: look up an order, read your statistics, check stuck parcels, and — if you allow it — create or edit.
The connection rests on an open standard, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which assistants know how to use. For you it boils down to pasting an address into your assistant and allowing access on an Ecomly page. No key to copy, no password shared.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT in five minutes
- In Ecomly, open Stores & Apps then the AI assistants section, and click Claude or ChatGPT.
- Copy the connection address shown (
https://ecomly.app/mcp). - In the assistant, add a custom connector with that address (Claude: Settings → Connectors; ChatGPT: Settings → Apps/Connectors, developer mode).
- Click “Connect”: an Ecomly page opens and asks for the access level.
- Choose Read only or Read and actions, then allow.
Custom connectors depend on your subscription with the assistant’s provider, and the integration is available in Ecomly plans that include the AI assistant.
What you can ask
With read access, the assistant can answer questions you would put to an analyst:
- “How many orders do I need to confirm today?”
- “Which orders have been stuck at the carrier for more than three days?”
- “Compare this week’s sales with last week’s.”
- “Has this customer had returns before?”
- “What is my Meta ROAS over the last seven days?” — see our article on real ROAS.
With “Read and actions”, it can also act:
- create an order taken by phone;
- move a list of orders to Confirmed or Cancelled;
- fix an order’s address or add a note;
- create a product with its sales page, classic or landing page, with its photos.
Creating a landing page by chatting
You write: “Create a landing page for my lamp at 3,500 DZD with this photo.” The assistant prepares the title, description and price, then creates the product in Ecomly. Photos have a subtlety: an image attached to a conversation cannot be handed to a tool as it is. So the assistant gives you a temporary upload link (valid thirty minutes, no sign-in) where you drop your photos from your phone or computer; it then attaches them to the product. It can also copy photos from public image links.
The page is created with the order form, the language you chose, and the section order specific to a landing page. What is left to set by hand: delivery prices per wilaya, from the product page.
Why it is safe: your rights, your control
- Your permissions, nothing more: the assistant acts with the rights of the person who connected it. If your role cannot edit orders, the assistant cannot either.
- Read only by default: tools that change data are not even offered to a read-only connection.
- No deleting: the assistant can neither delete, nor touch your carriers, integrations, keys or subscription.
- Traceability: every action is written to the order’s history under the assistant’s name, and the Applications window lists the AI’s recent activity.
- Control at any time: you can switch a connection to read-only or remove it immediately.
- Order text treated as data: names and notes typed by customers can contain anything; the assistant is instructed never to follow instructions found there.
A good habit: ask the assistant to confirm with you before any bulk change.
Limits to know about
An AI can be wrong: review what it proposes before approving bulk actions. It does not set delivery prices, does not manage per-variant stock and does not replace the confirmation team. And if you would rather have help without leaving the app, Ecomly also includes its own assistant, which knows the page you are on, along with order import from a conversation or a screenshot.
